If you wish to contribute to the food in the camp, you will be most welcome to eat with the other boxers though the northern Thai food may take some getting used to! Eating out, whether at street stalls or restaurants, food is generally very good and inexpensive with a wide variety of dishes including western. If eating Thai food, prices are very low and the food is great . Western food is good but more expensive and at approx. 200 - 400 baht per day will fill you well. Buses, red taxis (shared pick-ups) or tuk tuks (3 wheelers) are available from the main road, to and from the city centre also the red taxis may be hired for private tours. Services such as banking, travel agents, etc. are available, up to date, and for the most part efficient. Laundry service is very good: There is a laundry just across the road from the camp, though the young boxers do their laundry by hand! Medical & dental services are modern and efficient. Personal medical insurance is recommended as hospital fees are not cheap (if you have to stay in hospital). We are happy to recommend treks, massage courses, motorbike trips, etc. For most people traveling to Thailand for 30 days or less, non extendible visas are issued at the airport. For stays longer than 30 days a tourist visa, issued in your country of origin, valid for two months and extendible for up to a further month (500 baht for 30 day extension) while in Thailand are usual. It is now possible at some embassies to get a 3-month multiple-entry visa. It is best to check with the Thai embassy in your country.
